More time in Marianna/N. Florida

We were able to go back on Sunday and mostly finish the roof and then we went back yesterday and added the last pieces of tin and screws to the roof.  FINISHED!

We also had the opportunity to go help re-tarp a roof for a sweet family.  They were so very kind, gracious and thankful.  Some of us visited with them while the others fixed the roof.  To hear the horror that they went through during the storm and to hear the damage that their house and property sustained was devastating.  After we were done fixing the roof we praised the Lord together with them in song and prayed with them.  It was incredible.

There was rain in the area but they were out a ways and they said they didn't see any signs of rain.  While driving out to them we drove through a huge rain storm- I mean so dark and the rain was so heavy that our windshield wipers were on high and we still could barely see. About 3 minutes from their house it cleared.  As we drove in what was now sunshine (what we attributed to a weird Florida rainstorm), we looked back and saw the huge storm coming.  When we arrived it started sprinkling and we were thinking we wouldn't have time to help much. But one of the ladies stood there and prayed the rain away.  She just kept talking to God and saying "You know we need more time.  Just hold it back or take it away.  Thank you Jesus." It just dispersed.

When we got there they were so thankful that we came to re-tarp their house.  It was a daughter, mom and grandmother that lived there. (All adults).  The mom said she sleeps on half her bed and puts plastic on the other half so the rain would roll off the other direction.  She said "You know we've been through a lot in this year but we are blessed and God is still good."
